I will be down there in a couple of weeks and can't wait to explore the surroundings and meet you and the other PRIME interns.
JudeJude Applehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07484636866117256825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5084869486114873407.post-79751391140306098492013-07-11T21:29:20.679-07:002013-07-11T21:29:20.679-07:00We do make our own microinjection pipettes! Not only do we get a perfectly usable pipette 100% of the time, but we can modify the heat and timing to obtain a number of different pipette types. Technology sure is amazing!Zac Swiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11413839581843348830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5084869486114873407.post-52354896261481929012013-07-11T13:22:18.504-07:002013-07-11T13:22:18.504-07:00Hope you are getting to toss your skim board into ...Hope you are getting to toss your skim board into the tidal waters as well. I am glad you are expanding your biological knowledge of both your research lab focus and the surrounding area.
JanJan Hodderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11073624265507479063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5084869486114873407.post-83473224958489518662013-07-10T07:57:04.194-07:002013-07-10T07:57:04.194-07:00Go Zac Go! Do you guys extrude your own microinjection pipettes in the lab? If so, what percentage of the time do you get a usable pipette?!!

I am excited that to hear that you are picking your head up from the microscope now and then and getting out into your surroundings. OIMB lies at the intersection of a number of high richness habitats - estuarine, coniferous rainforest, and marine upwelling zone (including, as you mention, amazing intertidal areas) - it really is a wonderful place for a naturalist. Enjoy!

Matt KMatt Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13582165841387680351noreply@blogger.com
